Emergency
A medical emergency is an acute injury or illness that poses an immediate risk to a person’s life or long-term health. Please attend to the emergency department at Helios hospital in case of the following:
- Bleeding that does not stop
- Breathing problems (difficulty in breathing, shortness of breath)
- Change in mental status (unusual behaviour, confusion, difficulty arousing)
- Chest pain
- Choking
- Coughing up or vomiting blood
- Fainting or loss of consciousness
- Feelings of committing suicide or murder
- Head or spine injury
- Severe or persistent vomiting or loose stools
- Injury due to a motor vehicle accident, burns or smoke inhalation, near drowning, etc
- Sudden & severe pain
- Sudden dizziness, weakness, or change in vision
- Poisoning
- Abdominal pain
- Snake bite/ Scorpion bite
